Baking Classes with Hammond Baking Co.

Learn the art of real, from-scratch baking in a relaxed, hands-on setting. Each class is taught by Emma Hammond, local baker and founder of Hammond Baking Co., known for her soft pretzels, sourdough loaves, and market-favourite baked goods.

From beginner-friendly workshops to more advanced doughs, Emma walks you through every step — mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking — while sharing her go-to tips and troubleshooting tricks. You’ll leave with new skills, confidence, and something delicious to take home.

Popular classes include:

  • Sourdough and Artisan Bread: Master your starter and bake your first loaf.

  • Bread and Dough Beginner: Learn the basics of homemade bread in a four week course learning 4-5 different recipes

  • Bread and Dough Advanced: working off of our skills in beginner we learn how to make more advanced doughs with higher hydrations.

Classes are small, fun, and always smell amazing. Perfect for beginners, home bakers, or anyone looking to spend a few cozy hours learning something new.

If you're looking to sign up for them they are offered through January-March through Orillia Parks and Recreation.
